Congratulations to all the Sixth form bands who performed at our lunchtime music festival! After a year of recorded and live-streamed performances, it was fabulous to finally be able to stage a real gig. Four bands performed to an audience of Year 12 students on a lovely summer afternoon in the Sixth form garden. The performances represented the wide musical tastes of our students, including songs by Gorillaz, Artic Monkeys, Tupac, Stevie Wonder and Herbie Hancock.
The large turn-out of supporting friends, peers and staff created a wonderful atmosphere, all the more special after a year of lockdowns and isolations, with little opportunity for our usual range of social gatherings and events for 6th formers. The four bands consisted of students from across our three 6th form music courses: RSL Practitioner for Music (Performing and Composing pathways) and A level Music.
A huge well done to: Sienna (vocals); Rojin (vocals); Kaj (guitar); Jack (drums); Gabby (vocals); Darrel (vocals); Felix (bass); Berkan (keys); Ethan (drums); Pyaar (sax); Albin (guitar); Arun (guitar); Adam (bass); Kyle (drums); Alfie (vocals); Sam (guitar); Aiden (bass); Leo (drums). We look forward to many more opportunities for live performances next year!
