Dear Parents, Carers and Students
This newsletter, throughout the year, has provided me with many opportunities to celebrate our successes, including: topping the world PISA tests, making The Sunday Times Top 20 State schools, Ventura Design Awards and Outstanding Music Teacher of the Year to name a few. This final newsletter is no different, with more achievements to end the year: both Jamie Toeg and Ted Proctor for TeenTech Challenge and Jamie again for The Oxford University George Orwell Writing Prize, Joel Kiffin for London Citizen Journalist, Caoimhe Loizides on being selected as S;orts Personality of the Year and our very own 'Americas Cup winning sailor' Ethan Gerrell - a name to watch. And news just in.. two APS students, Kelly Fitzgerald and Liliana Newsam-Smith, have been awarded the Queen Mary's University Physicist of the Year Prize.
In working together to create such a successful school ever one of us, parents students and staff, is indeed a winner.
It has been a busy and productive academic year. I have enjoyed every day of it but at this particular point in the year must disagree with Shakespeare's Cressida "Things won are done. Joy's sould lies in the doing." She never had to teach 1,600 teenagers in a hot building. I think we are all due a well-deserved break.
I wish our families a wonderful summer.
