There are so many examples of great work around our school that, when it's newsletter time, I am always spoiled for choice on which of these to highlight. It was a tough decision, but in this edition I've chosen to shine a light in the dark corner of a physics lab...
Once again, students at Alexandra Park School have achieved excellent exam results at GCSE and A level. Despite national results seeing a large fall, APS bucked the trend and saw its best student performance yet. This is our tenth year of improvement. These results are a testament to our staff, the determination and hard work of our students and the support of their families.
Once again it has been a busy and productive academic year. I have enjoyed every day of it. We are all due a well-deserved break. Wednesday evening will be the best night of the year. A time when staff and students alike can sit back and breathe a sigh of relief in the knowledge of work well done and the promise of a few weeks away from school.
It is said that the devil makes work for idle hands. Well, he wouldn't have much luck at APS. Colleagues have done a tremendous job in cramming a multitude of activities alongside their classes and the 223 separate public examinations sat by our year 11, 12 and 13 students.
