APS Careers Fair

The Careers Fair at Alexandra Park School on Thursday, 18th January 2018 was another great success.  A wide variety of exhibitors attended including universities, employers and an increasing range of apprenticeship providers. Exhibitors commented on how they had never met such conscientious Year 9 students and were pleased with the thoughtful questions from Year 11s. Many Year 12 and 13 students also attended to gain some important points about next steps and to keep in touch with the ever changing climate of higher education and advanced apprenticeship options.

Students were grateful of the time dedicated to help link their learning to their future options and vocational ideas. Here are some Year 9 student comments:

I talked to lots of people and the Lawyer helped me think about how I can qualify with the right skills and subjects.
Until the careers fair, I didn't realise how many options we have and it really helped me see different choices potentially for the future.
I learnt about what opportunities there are for the GCSEs you take.
I’m now much clearer about what an Apprenticeship is.
