Do you want to be inspired by the impact of education on the lives of young people?

Would you like to share your skills and experiences to support young people to succeed?

Alexandra Park School, New River Trust, is looking for Trustees who would like to share their lived experiences, perspectives and skills to strengthen our Board’s decision-making and help us have courageous conversations in the interests of young people.

Who are we looking for?

ad 01.jpgTrustees are volunteers who are responsible for the strategic management of Alexandra Park School and the New River Trust of which it is part. Our Board of Trustees is made up of representatives from across the community, including parents, carers and others in our local and wider London community.

You don’t need any specific skills or experience to be a Trustee. You must be over 18, but you don’t need to be a parent or have experience working in education. Professional skills in areas such as finance and education are useful, but most importantly it’s about the unique perspective and range of lived experience you can bring that will help us achieve our vision ‘success for all’.

We can offer a range of access options to support your involvement on our Board. For example, we are able to reimburse childcare or travel expenses to enable you to join Board meetings and we can also offer options to attend meetings remotely via videoconference.

Why become a Trustee?

Volunteering as a Trustee is a challenging but rewarding role. A recent impact survey found that 9/10 volunteers would recommend being a Trustee or School Governor to a friend.

  • help us overcome challenges to ensure success for all young people in our community
  • work collaboratively with people from different backgrounds, challenging your own perspective and broadening your network
  • gain experience outside of your job description and skills you can bring back to work

How do I apply?
