Key Stage 5 Curriculum

Alexandra Park Sixth Form offers more than 30 qualifications to study. The Curriculum Guide explains these qualifications.  We have included links to our bridging guides for transition into sixth form and onto University. Full details are available within the Sixth Form website area.

KS5 Information Booklet (Yr12-13)

We have removed the curriculum outlines A Level and other Key Stage 5 courses as they do not reflect the changes that have been made to enable delivery of remote learning and meet the adaptations to qualifications.

For the 2022 examination series the following adaptations have been confirmed:

Art A Level 

There will be no exam board set task.  Grades will be awarded on the basis of students’ portfolios only.

Photography A Level 

There will be no exam board set task.  Grades will be awarded on the basis of students’ portfolios only.

Textiles A Level 

There will be no exam board set task.  Grades will be awarded on the basis of students’ portfolios only.

All other exam subjects

Exam boards will provide advance information about the focus of the content for all exams for the summer 2022 exams. 

In addition, the following decisions have been made to support students in the subjects specified below: 

  1. Exam boards will provide copies of the formulae sheet for use in teaching and to ensure that students are familiar with it prior to the exams. Clean copies of the formulae sheet will be provided in the exams.
  2. There will be changes to the requirement of non-examined assessment (coursework) in Drama, Geography, Product Design, Media Studies, Music, PE and in Vocational courses. 
  3. There will be more flexibility in delivery and assessment of practical work in Science subjects.

Sixth Form Enrolment

Thursday 12th  August

APS students who received a conditional offer and have met the entry requirements will be enrolled automatically.

If you no longer want to accept your place then please email Ms Porter at by 3pm on Tuesday 12th August. 



APS Students who want to change their courses or have not met the entry requirements can meet with a member of the Sixth Form Team to discuss.



External applicants who have received a conditional offer must attend in-person to enrol.

Tuesday 31st August


Catch-up enrolment for all students who have received a conditional offer.

Thursday 2nd September

Year 12 Induction- Students will be informed of the time to arrive depending on their Tutor Group.


We will consider late applicants if your GCSE or BTEC grades meet our entry requirements found here.

  • ID/Passport
  • GCSE results
  • Most recent school report
  • Name and contact details of a referee from your previous school
  • Your course choices- 4 A levels / 3 BTECs or a combination.

If we are able to offer you a place, then a member of the Sixth Form Team will be in contact to discuss your application and the possibility of enrolling on the 31st August.

APS Sixth Former presents on BBC

Teenagers from the around the world talk to the technology pioneers who have shaped their lives. Each episode is introduced by Anna Zanelli, a year 13 student from APS and a budding designer. The series explores the inspiration behind some of the most important digital inventions, what their creators needed to do to make them a reality, and hear words of wisdom from brilliant minds.
