As Chair of the New River Trust (NRT) Board of Trustees, I’d like to extend a warm welcome to the governance section of our website, on behalf of the NRT Governing Body: Members, Trustees and Local Governors.
It’s essential in our governance roles that we know our school community and it’s just as important that we make sure our community knows us. As your Governing Body, we strive to communicate effectively about how we make strategic decisions and hold school leaders to account for the care, performance and success of all students and staff.
To this end, we’ve developed a range of self-service information about our governance structure and processes, as well as our people, so you can get to know us better. This information is available via the main menu and links below.
My hope is that every person who visits the website will have gained a greater understanding of the role of the Board of Trustees and the Governing Body as a whole, and an insight into how we work as a team in shaping the future of education for our community. I also hope some of you may feel inspired to become a Trustee or Local Governor yourself.
The Board of Trustees are always on the lookout for skilled and motivated people from a wide variety of backgrounds to volunteer to serve on the Governing Body. So, if you are interested in starting your volunteering journey then please do contact us.
